The glove box comes out easily so you can see how to tighten the latching mechanism. Remove the fuzzy duct cover on the left side of the footwell. Three ( I think) of those plastic push-in things. Be careful to only push in the inner button a few millimeters to remove the plastic fastener or it will break. If you have the original screwdriver from the Saab toolkit, it has a little button on the handle just for this purpose. Then the lower panel above the footwell, 4 screws toward the rear of the car with a clip at the edge towards the front of the car. There may be an electrical connector to remove if you have floor lighting. Then there are three screws under the glovebox and three inside to remove it. You should be able to slide it out far enough to see what is going on but if you want to take it out completely, unplug the connector for the glovebox light and the rubber hose in the back for the glovebox “refrigerator.” The screws are all Torx, but I don’t recall the exact size. I believe the screws for the latching loops are on top of the glovebox inside. You are three-quarters of the way for changing the cabin filter if necessary and if you feel game. Some people find the cabin filter a pain to change as it slides in rather tightly and the filter door has some screws that are harder to see. This can be a bit of a literal pain in the back if you have back issues. I kneel on a thick pad on the ground to do this job.
