Strange headlight switch behavior

Haven't had time to poke around on this, but figure I'd ask the group before I dig in one it.
I noticed the high beams won't stay on when I pull on the stock..When this happend before, the light switch was in the 12 oclock position. Put the switch on the 2 o'clock position, NO LIGHTS. hmmm..switch back to 12 o'clock position, lights come on but same same behavior on the high beams.
I am guessing it is one of the relays but don't have a schematic to check/trace.
Guidance appreciated.
Thanks
John
