I don't think you need the current VIN as it will be married to your VIN. But as a precaution, i would note down the Model Year, date of mfr and model like arc, linear, aero just in case. I am also not sure that an early ECU say 199MY is compatible with a 2007MY. I would ask your tuner if you will have one.
