I would guess TB (throttle body). 13 yrs of a beating by the heat and the internal electronics fail. Familiar with your symptoms. If it's the TB, they can be rebuilt at BBRam if there is one fairly close or you can replace with a new OE. I think either option will come with a lifetime warranty from ORIO if they haven't changed policies. Quite easy to DIY under a shade tree or garage. Buy a new bottom oring too. Also a good time to replace vacuum lines in the area including I think the one to the oil trap on the back of the engine if I remember correctly. Let us know what happens. Ours did not throw codes either. The TB is one of the parts that prevent the 9-5 from having Toyota Camry reliability.
