Hi,
I would not in any way be taking this course of action. Reason being is that "powered fuse method" as described by jimmy, already has various loads in that electrical circuit and in addition you would be adding another load to what "powered fuse" circuit has not been designed or carry additional load in the first place. Fuel pump may start "briefly", but "that powered fuse" may burn out. In the worst case scenario, electrical wiring that feeds another system may burn or short out. Furthermore, you would be powering electric fuel pump without any circuit protection. As mentioned before, fuel pump at start up consumes a hefty amp load number. There maybe a surge of electrical power and pump may not "breath again" The worst case scenario wiring circuit that is used to power electrical fuel pump " powered fuse way" may and will burn the circuit.
Hence, the procedure dictates to energize fuel pump through Tech2 that consists of relay(s) and fuse(s) If in the worst scenario there is a fault, fuse would be the worst that could burn.
Just saying if one cuts corners, the outcome is, one pays dearly at the end.
Cheers,
