Heater core replacement

I had coolant appear in the rear passenger side footwell. Don’t get many passengers so it could have been building up, but it was really soaked. Seemed pretty bizarre until I realized I park on a street that’s pretty sharply banked. So, somehow coolant was running from the heater core area to the floor and down along the side of the floorpan. I haven’t seen many reports of heater core failures so I thought perhaps it was an oring. Coolant was seen dripping pretty quickly from the lower hose to core connection point.
So I ordered a replacement from eeuro. Went with Nissen. Valeo is what came out and I have to think it’s the original. I would suggest going with Valeo. The Nissen unit is about 1/16 inch too big to slide in easily. I pushed it hard and it did manage to make its way in but not fun. Orings looked ok but of course I replaced them. So far so good.
Pretty satisfying repair. I had been losing coolant and couldn’t tell where. I feared engine trouble. What a relief!
