try searching this forum for details, as I recall there being discussions on this solution a few years back.
I ended up installing a Motorola T605 kit in my '01 9-5 years back. It cost around $50, plus another 20 or so for a wiring harness adapter. The adapter made use of, and integrated into the abandoned On-star wiring. Though, I'm thinking there were other wiring options for those without the Onstar system at the time.
I still use this today, and it works flawlessly. When receiving a call, it rings over the car's audio system, and when pressing the installed modules answer button, it mutes the radio, for your wireless conversation.
It also had the ability to stream music off your phone as well. However; it only streamed in mono, I think due to Onstar's limitations?, so I never used it. However for podcasts, etc. it may be useful to you.
The kit also came with a microphone and speaker, which could be used in the absence of those components if you didn't have an on-star config .
Like I said.. poke around on the forums.. for more details..
Good luck,
Mike
