I have used the copper washers on banjo bolts for decades and never had one leak, and this is for oil, coolant and gasoline under pressure. I’ve never had any trouble finding the correct washers from site sponsors so I am disinclined to experiment especially since these washers are cheap to obtain. If you do wish to experiment or research other washer materials with proven performance we would be interested to hear about your experience. I do know that I have had trouble with leaking o-rings on the water pump connections, the timing chain tensioner and the oil pump. It seems o-rings have a limited life which doesn’t seem to be the case for copper washers.
