Yeah, I would agree that of the Generals I have used, the UHPs and AS-05s were better than the AS-03s, for Saab 9-5s. The AS-03s worked much better on 900s, Miatas and S-2000s. Something about the underengineered rear suspension of the 99-09 9-5s, the suspension bits had to be spot on and you had to refrain from loading up the car more than the usual 2 people and 30 pounds of stuff.
When we bought the '06 9-5 wagon, it had some of those Continentals (brand new) that were meant to adapt to changing seasons as they wore. They made this wagon drive like a pig, on curves. I put some AS-03s on there and the handling improved immensely. Now the wagon has AS-05s and a little of the sharpness is lost, but yes, much quieter and considerably longer life - and none of this cupping the AS-03s are vulnerable to on 99-09 9-5s.
