Thanks, that is what I was hoping for. I know this is how it works on 9-3 but was not sure about 9-5. If a car cannot find old sensors it just automatically searches for new sensors and learns the new ID numbers on the fly.
I am using Autel programmable sensors - those can be programmed for almost any car and any ID and cost just $25 each. The programmer is just another $50. I used these sensors on my other Toyota/Lexus/Nissan/Saab cars and they always work great.
