2008 9.5 wagon fuel pump I replaced w "European professional" Swedish aftermarket. besides the last line to disconnect under the top of the fuel pump assembly, access to see and figure out release tab location had me raising pump assembly ~5". this "Tank Bleeder from the fuel pump" WIS remove step #7.
after I finished installing new fuel pump assembly, it starts and runs, yet after 20 seconds the pressure line out of the pump lid is loudly gargle varying noise that can be felt in the output plastic supply hose. with no other actions installing the new pump, except the tank bleeder line under the pump assm lid. Can any suggest how this car may now have loud bumble bee's in a jar sound.
I am 1000% certain pump is captivating or air is getting into bottom of pump and air is running through pump gears. Yes, now have new problem with "air vapor" running through the pump gears.
Hint may be in WIS assembly steps #2, on refit, step #2 says: "Attach the bleeder hose to (1.) the pump housing and - (2.) connect it to the fuel pump lid."
before installing new pump, I cleaned bottom of tank, and looked at bleede hose its connector and o ring ( ok) and felt back to a "T junction and followed the 2 branches of tank bleeder line. seemed intact and OK.
) assembly WIS number 2, then my note on bleeder line > ( 2. ) this step was not apparent to me?
could it be that pump bleeder connection is "Off" the bottom pump portion canister, so most fuel is exited the canister "well" the pump itself sits in?
can fuel pressure regulator on fuel rail induce air vapors into return line?
no fuel line leaks nor evap codes. and full throttle accel to 80 is 12 seconds. fuel pump , though captivating w some air, still keeps fuel rail and injectors satisfied. by 0-80 MPH time.
ideas welcome , Thanks I did not disconnect bleeder line at lower pump housing, just at lid conn. what did I miss? Don
