Currently getting both lights. Codes are P1624 which from what I research is generic CEL that TCU sends the ECU? and now tonight P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio. Obviously goes into limp mode. Once I clear them it drives FORWARD normally. This has been occurring recently. Now tonight I noticed it is not REVERSING properly. It goes into R but when applying gas, it is definitely slipping or something. Also hear a strange fluttering noise. It's enough power to get me backwards out of parked space but not full reverse power.
History: Many months ago got both lights and limp mode. Cleared codes. Drives fine for weeks or month or more. Got again. I finally replaced the NSS on top of the transmission body. Found a decent price new from dealer online. Was fine afterwards until very recently. Could it be (1) the new NSS is bad? It seems to know it's in D and R though. (2) TCU issue? (3) Something is amiss with REVERSE and causing all this? The thing is it doesn't throw codes immediately. It just throws them after I have driven about a mile. Can definitely feel the gear change to limp mode when the lights come on. After I cleared codes tonight, I drove it up to highway speeds over bridge pulling hard, etc. and back home about 5 miles total no problems and no codes or lights. Even rechecked for codes as lights had not come on. No codes. But REVERSE is still bad. Reverse could have been bad for a while and I didn't notice. My driveway has decline and I back up slowly anyway.
PLEASE HELP if anyone has had this scenario or issues. Thanks!!
