I'm having trouble getting the car to go into 5th gear sometimes, which the shop says will be fixed with a shift link bushing kit. I found an upgrade kit from Maptun that uses brass instead of plastic bushings. Is this worthwhile? Pretty pricey. The OEM one lasted about 14 years before I started noticing it. I doubt the rest of the car is going to last another 14 years, on the other hand I'm putting a lot more mileage on the car than the previous owners did, about 20k per year. Does this thing wear out by number of shifts, or is it wearing out because of vibration from driving in general?
