Saab in their al-mightiness decided to switch the male and female coupling around at subframe connection.
And then they discontinued the older style so when replacing the front or rear pipe, you have to buy a set of both.
Some aftermarket suppliers have continued to sell the older style but depending on what year it is installed on, it might end up as your situation.
