I've got a place now in North Carolina, and somehow none of the places I've registered cars ever required a front plate. I've just acquired a low mileage '05 Arc sedan and the only cosmetic issue is some bumper damage right where a front plate would be if it had one.
Everybody has their own tastes I guess, but what would I give not to have to cover up this part of the bumper with a plate. Doesn't do a darned thing IMO to help the look of the vehicle. I want to encourage you to resist the impulse to put a plate on that pristine bumper. My suggestion is, if you go without you will come to love the look. Might take a while, just a different, cleaner look I'd suggest. To me, even when the plate comes back off, those holes will be there.
Anyway yeah, what Mel says.
