My mechanic gave me a key fob for my 1999 9-5. it wasn’t new it looked very used. But it looks like it’s cut to the same key. It’s just a post 2004 key with gib attached. Some time ago it stopped working after I changed the battery. Then I found somewhere a sequence of Things I had to do involving turning the car on and off and pressing lock and or unlock buttons and it worked. Now actually, the battery dies again and my son is using the car and I cannot find that sequence. How do I program this remote or get it going again. I had two bullet remotes to start out now I have only one bullet. And I have this other remote no longer on the car but starts the car no problem. Thoughts? Also, I am wondering which Tech 2 should I buy. Where can I find the device to program the key. It says it’s a GM Tech 2 but I do not know which one is the one I should purchase. because reprogramming the key by the mechanic is gonna cost almost as much as most of the various devices I have seen. Thought on that? Thanks!
