1999-2009 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
Letting everyone know an imperfect success.
With the new Tech2 and replacement TWICE
managed to do the immobilize on the TWICE.
changed the DICE '99 vin to the body '2000 in order to get that to happen; married the keys, and went thru all the subparts and set them [[there were a couple i didn't know what to set]]
then returned to the '99 VIN , as it was the as was.
Noticed that the T7/ECU software wasn't stock, and recalled that after long ago flood, I think the T7 was replaced
Couldn't start, and retried immobil. procedure again, as the '2000, and it cleared the errors, but no restart as the battery died.
Recharged it, and in the dark, hours later, it started !
Noticed three dash warnings
red triangle ; red AirBag ; White transmission gear.
I am assuming that i should have re-done the subparts settings.
I also noticed that the there was clack/knock [valves or lifters?] with the hood open; not sure if this is an artifact of using '2000' VIN, or not re-setting all the subparts, or just is an engine issue unrelated that i need to address.
I can imagine that I will need to re-flash the ECU to appropriate software; may be play with a mod. That will take some summer's time , to get the laptop, tis2000, data cable, etc, all worked out.
Before then, I will snag the engine that went in, in 2009, in case that affects which software to use.
Did Have two questions about the settings.
1. I set the tires to 16", but there were some some parts related that I didn't understand. Also, there was a manual setting, defaulting to around 1950, and I want to think this is the circumference in mm. Yes? Might want to set it to correct the speedometer always being 3 MPH too high. Unless there is another setting somewhere
2. Don't know what setting the speedometer[?] is supposed to be. Running past it, it defaulted to P6000 or somesuch, and there were 3 other choices. What are they, and what should I use ?
