I replaced the rack on my 2000 9-5 about a year ago in my driveway after the same thing happened. I was driving back to Seattle from Canada and one of the seals blew. I had to stop a couple of times on the way home to refill it, but it got home. Follow the WIS instructions and you'll be fine. The best advice I can give is to completely remove the rear and middle subframe bolts. You want it down as far as possible. I used the car's jack under the rear of the subframe to keep it from falling down completely. One other thing I didn't follow at first is the instruction to remove the bolt at the base of the steering column. I assumed it was a pinch bolt, and loosening it would allow the rack to drop, but that's not the case. The rack's shaft has a groove in it that the bolt fits into, so the bolt has to come out completely or else the rack will end up hanging in the air as you drop the subframe.
