I don’t know if they really require replacement; a few years ago in anticipation of doing a drain and fill cycle I ordered a new plug and related washers just in case. I was unable to get enough torque and clearance from the subframe to break the original drain plug, so reverted to the old vacuum pump through dipstick method. My car is a 2003 V6, so has a dipstick, which I understand went away in some newer models.
See photo of parts — new plug looks brass or bronze with a magnetic core, while washers are aluminum. I got them from Orio at the time.
