... regular oil changes is the obviously one.. but I'm sure you're already on board with that based on your comments regarding maintenance.
Using quality fuel might also help with preventing carbon build up.. .
I've done the occasional engine flush using either Liqui Moly or BG EPR.... and I also did a piston soak, to address an oil burning issue, as well as dropping the oil pan to clean the sump pickup screen a few year back..
currently have 321k miles.. on a 2001 linear, for what it's worth..
