From my 9-5 experience, your leak is related to the o-rings on the short piece of pipe that connects the water pump to the block. I’ve had the same experience of dripping when cold but not when hot. You can check the shaft on the water pump for play, but it’s probably best to replace the pump even if it is not leaking around the shaft. The job is about the same replacing the o-rings and also the pump. Check the short piece of pipe for coolant residue and also the hole in the block so the new o-rings are sealing properly. There are discussions here about alternative o-rings that may last longer than the OEM o-rings, along with the sizes. I haven’t bought a water pump lately so maybe others can offer suggestions as to brand. It’s not a hard job but there are quite a few steps so you don’t want to do it too often. Replace the coolant of course and check the serpentine belt and pulleys while the belt is off. You don’t mention the year of your 9-5 but I find the radiator peacock harder to access on the newer 9-5s as there is more in the way. You may want to get a peacock socket as it makes that job easier and you want to avoid breaking the plastic petcock.
