I am almost certain power is all you need and you can get that in the overhead console. I added one to a 9-5 years ago and there was a short wire pigtail you could add to some pre-wired models that would plug directly into the mirror. But I think if you search here you will find others who have just connected a jumper to the power at the light switch. One comment I would make is that sometimes the dimming mirror does not get quite dim enough for the high intensity LED headlights on modern cars and especially trucks. I have the old school mirror with the flip lever that dims better in one old 9-5 and I hesitate to replace it with one of those auto-dimming mirrors I have in my parts bin because of the glare problems I experience on my newer 9-5 with the auto-dimming mirrors. Sometimes I have to turn the mirror up to the ceiling to avoid being blinded from behind. The outside dimming mirrors have similar problems but they are preferable to the usual non-dimming outside mirrors.
