From what I understand those resistors can generate pretty substantial heat, and I’d be leery of introducing that into the enclosed back side of the headlamp assembly (especially f you run your DRLs). One can argue that the halogens also generate heat, but that heat is largely on the forward facing side of the housing, and that part of the headlight has been engineered to withstand / dissipate that heat. I am not sure that the back side where the wiring is would be similarly designed. Just speculation, but give me pause when considering a similar mod to my wife’s GMC.
I also agree with Paul’s points about lenses and projectors being designed for certain bulb specs. Having brighter light but not properly focused beams is not useful to the driver and can be dangerous for oncoming traffic.
