While I’m pretty sure that the socket assemblies are different Right vs Left, I believe that difference is only in how they snap into the back of the respective lens assembly. I think you could swap the two socket assemblies, just leaving them loose in the trunk (but plugged into the wiring), and see if the behavior switches sides. Might be a simple way to rule out the most common issue.

I’d be skeptical of the cruise control as those switches (the slider and push button) are in the stalk, whereas the directional switch is in the base of the stalk (the part of the assembly in the steering column).

Just worth a shot. IMO.
