I used this on a pinhole on my 9-5 tank with good results. I drained the tank, sanded the area, cleaned it several times with isopropyl alcohol, and applied the sealant to both the inside and outside. It’s formulated for aircraft tanks and cabin sealing. It dries with a somewhat rubbery texture so it probably expands and and contracts with the tank. A salvage tank is a good option too but more work. Be sure to check the straps while you work especially if you are in an area where salt is used on the roads. The pinhole in my tank had to have been something like a stone chip because there was no other damage on the tank.
