I have two sixes. When I bought the first there was no Aero and the 4lpt was just too impotent in automatic form. When I bought the second, the Aero lease was $75 more per month and I just couldn't justify the extra expense. Maybe the 4lpt for this year with 15 more hpt would be adequate in automatic form but I doubt it due to no real increase in torque. My two sixes have been great but I lease mine and am not that concerned about long term longevity. In automatic form, the six is so close to the Aero that to me the real difference is not the engine but the suspension and brakes. One problem with the Aero is that everyone seems to be messing up the front air dam hitting parking concrete tire stops. I hate that, and that was also a factor in my consideration. Really would like that Aero suspension and those Aero brakes though. Also like the growl of the v-6.
