In addition to the roads suggested by AeroLady, try Rt 2 (The Mohawk Trail) from Williamstown to Greenfield Mass. and Rt 10 from Hanover NH north along the Connecticut River valley. Most important, whatever route you take, MAKE RESRVATIONS unless you want to sleep in your SAAB as well as drive it.
