What a jerk! I cannot believe he would put an infant seat on someone else's new car (or someone else's old car, for that matter). Brainless, clueless, inconsiderate!
Door dings are my one major pet peeve. I'm allowed one neurosis, right? I've made a practice of always parking my cars in the more remote sections of parking lots, either where they're by themselves or parked close by an 'island' where I can make a little more room between the next space and keep the 'island' side protected. (I'm not the kind of jerk who parks diagonally across two spaces, however.) I'd much rather walk farther across the lot, even in crummy weather, for the extra peace of mind and dent-free doors. I usually drop my passengers off at a building entrance as a 'courtesy' and then go for the remote area.
I tend to keep my cars a long time, though, and parking in remote areas helps them stay door-ding free.
