Great website.

I just leased an 02 Aero auto sedan with touring. Had an 82 900 Turbo in college and have wanted another one ever since. So far (one week) the car is fantastic, especially in sport mode. I love everything about the car, except for the instrument panel and dash, which doesn't seem to be updated too much from the 82 model. However, nothing else drives like a Saab, and the dash is of secondary importance to me.

The deal came down to the Saab or the Audi 2.7T. No comparison looks, price or drive.

Couple of questions - first, my deal was about $3400 down, 4 year lease, $35,500 ($33,000 after cap reduction, and $433 per month payment incl. tax. The money factor was apparently very low. They stuck me with a $495 Saab Finance charge right up front that I probably should have negotiated away. Would you call this an average deal or did I get hosed? I'm in Hermosa Beach (LA area).

Second, would you recommend after-market sway bars or does the car need them? Does anyone have the Hirsch system? Would that void the warranty?

Third, the dealer said that tinting the windows wouldn't be a good idea because the glass is designed to break apart in an accident and the tinting would hinder that. True? Tinting helps to keep the car cool in Southern California.

Thanks - appreciate your input.

(By the way, this morning I saw a convoy of about 4 Saab cars on the freeway testing the new 2.0 93, which was leading the pack. All of the cars had two-way radios and dealer plates from Arizona. I think that they should have left the hatchback alone, reduced the price a bit, and advertised the car. The new 93 in my opinion looks like everything else - except for the updated dash which should be on the 95).
