"Close" to GM discount unreasonable expectation....

The GM discount is great for business as there are supposedly twenty million eligible folks out there, but as a Saab sales consultant it's alreardy tough enough selling Saabs without setting the unreasonalbe expectation that regular folks can get close to GM discount pricing.

Saab isn't advertising a lease special on an Aero, but using a convertible as an example there is around $2k difference in price between the adverstised lease special and the GMS price. And the ad lease special is a very good deal for a consumer. Most consumers consider $2k a big difference. The dealer makes almost exactly the same on a regular consumer at the ad lease pricing as they do on a GMS pricing as GM gives the dealer back some of the lost profit which is why dealers do GMS deals, it isn't out of the goodness of their hearts. For the regular consumer it's an extra $2k ish that has to come out of their pocket, even at Saab's advertised "best price".

Promoting Saab sales helps current Saab owners like you and me by increasing resale value and having more parts and service availible.
Suggesting that the general public can come close to GMS pricing makes it tough for a regular cosumer to get "close to my price" unless you consider a couple of thousand dollars "close" or $50-60 a month in lease payments.

Also Saab loyalty is only $500 and waiver of security deposit on the lease.
