Oh, Interesting! I'll try to order some of the Ultraguard Gold filters from that website. Thanks for the info!

NINES is truly an excellent publication. I was a subscriber for many years while I still had my 9000T. After a brief hiatus, I'm a SAAB owner once again, and have already sent out for my subscription!

I highly recommend NINES to all the readers of SAABNET. NINES is an invaluable source of information on all things SAAB.

Now, as for the 10W-30, I don't see it listed in my '02 9-5 Owner's Manual. I've attached a scan of page 251 below. It says that semi-synthetic or fully synthetic 5W-30, 0W-30, and 5W-40 are recommended, and fully synthetic 0W-40 and 0W-50 of well known brands are also recommened, especially for extreme driving conditions.

Furthermore, the oil should meet ACEA spec A3/B3. As far as I know, Mobil 1 in 5W-30 does NOT meet that spec; it only meets ACEA A1/B1. On the other hand, Mobil 1 in 0W-40 DOES meet ACEA A3/B3, and B4-02 as well.

ACEA is a European oil rating; it's explained at this URL:

Happy Saabing!
