A. I agree on the turn indicator switch--very clunky. The rest of the controls I'm mostly quite happy with. As far as the grade of plastic goes, it seems fine on mine, and is holding up well.

B. Do you have the automatic system or the manual? I have the auto system and it's brilliant--powerful with lots of user and dealer-selectable settings. It's completely capable of rapidly clearing heat on a 110-degree F. day, and warms quickly in the cold, especially in concert with the heated seats. The after-heater function with the V6 is icing on a rather large cake. Bottom line: a world-class climate system.

C. I'm not unhappy with the seats, and certainly like the programmable settings, but actually prefered the seats in my 9kT. I'd like the steering wheel to have 2 inches more travel.

D. What I thought was wind noise turned out to be tire noise. It's actually a quiet highway cruiser.

E. Not so with the V6, except occasionally when the AC and engine cooling fans are all working at max.

F. What, too big? Be happy you have a glove box and a passenger airbag, not every car company does so.

G. A clear sign it's time to take up a real sport ;-)

H. The V6 puts out a satisfying growl on hard acceleration, which is clearly not everybody's cup of tea. I found the ('99) 2.3l LPT to be quite, well, boring but competent and quiet at all times. We don't get the 2.0L in the States.

I. I've got no opinion, other than they should have one-touch close windows and sunroof.

In the States the three-pointed star and the twirling propeller do not begin to compete against the 9-5 in class at pricepoint. I would have had to spend an extra $10k to get into a 528i equivalent to my 9-5 (I did look), and would have still been giving up some features and crash-worthiness. The E-class would have cost even more.
