Service or Lack of Service

Just tried to book service for my 01 Saab. Same dealer I leased the car from and used for previous service. They had 3 openings the next day which was a surprise as I usually need to wait a week. Unfortunately they would not let me drop off the car at 7am to access the appointments (they were later in the day). Usually I drop of at 7am, catch the shuttle downtown to work and pick up at the end of the day. They told me that their service advisors were booked and not accepting any more cars despite service periods being open! I can't even just drop off the keys and run. To say the least, I was speechless. To access the openings during the day I need to drop the car off at the time of the appointment, which is unacceptable
What is happening to service? Is this becoming the norm now?
