Owned a 2000 S4 6speed, chipped, exhaust, K&N. about 315hp,366 ft/lbs torque. Loved the solidity, but did feel a bit heavy,Aero is a bit more tossable. S4 stuck to the ground like glue, awesome acceleration, fit me like a glove,no-one IMHO does interiors like Audi.We sold it, bought a TT roadster (225hp quattro) for Julie, got the Aero because of it's lightness, quickness, incredible smoothness, and greater backseat room and versatility. There are times we think we should have kept the S4, but we both love the Aero, we both feel it's the most
beautiful sedan on the road, and as her son's legs get longer, Aero makes more sense for room and certainly has better mileage. When we think of mods, the Aero comes to mind more than the TT. Nordic may hear from us at some point in the future... Both wonderful cars, two of the most desirable sport sedans on the market...Aero feels faster and is quicker without the feel of weight as you move into and above 3rd gear, it's like silk. Certainly smoother. Julie likes the ergonomic layout (pockets, controls, etc) better, air conditioned seats rock! (in southern US). We got $1500 off MSRP on the Aero, ended up paying about the same (as S4 had more option packages) for both...
