17" BBS's - I've had it....

Interesting that I've come to trust the opinions on this board more than any other "experts". A rogue pothole just dented a second BBS wheel (and flattened/ruined a second Michelin Pilot) on my 2000 9.5 Aero Wagon. And so I've decided to go with 16" wheels and try to get tires with a taller sidewall and hopefully more raod hazard resistance. I like the Ronal RT model - it comes in a 16x7.5 size for the 9.5.
Question: Can one of you tire size experts out there tell me what size Pilot I should get to have a wheel and tire height equal to the existing 17" BBS's and the 225.45.17's. I don't want the thing to look like a go-kart so I want to fill up the same space in the wheel wells.
Thanks for your responses!
Mike
