Recently purchased an Aero wagon after cross shopping the V70t5 as well as the other European wagons in the same class. The Volvo is a very nice car. Before driving it, I prefered the Volvo to the Saab. I thought the interior was superior, the vehicle slightly more solid and Volvo is certainly more well known than Saab.
After driving both wagons, the Aero was clearly superior in terms of driving dynamics and engine performance. The Volvo drove like a Buick with an overly soft suspension. Torque steer was much more evident in the Volvo, and although the Volvo makes nearly as much power as the Saab, the engine suffered significantly more from turbo lag. The Volvo basically lost it's composure whenever you pushed it.
The Aero is still a big FWD vehicle, but compared to the Volvo it was a much easier car to drive fast, and alot more fun to drive as well. All the euro wagons in this price range are good vehicles, but the fun to drive factor is what sold me on the Aero.
