I can't answer your 9-5 wagon question directly, but will caution about towing a boat with any front wheel drive vehicle. On steep launch ramps, there's so much rearward weight transfer that you'll find yourself literally spinning your drive wheels trying to pull the boat out.
I'd recommend limiting your Saab to occasional towing at the most. That's a task better reserved for old V8 pickups.
