Pat, this is good advise. I had motor changed out at 80,000 miles when brushes wore out. I retained the old motor (new one was over $300 - part only) so I could have brushes replaced and reinstall it myself when the replacement goes. The puller is necessary since arms are press fit. Once inside the removal is simple. Symptoms when motor was failing (bearings almost completely worn out) were intermittant running and not starting right away.
