Fixed my Steering Clunk

'99 9-5 Wagon. 44k miles Took it to two different dealers. Both said suspension required retorquing and looked at engine/trans mounts.
Still had a clunk while turning and accelerating after breaking. I took the advice mentioned in a previous thread about lubricating the steering. I took a can of lithium grease and sprayed the sleeve bearing (this is my best description of the part) at the base of the steering column inside the car. It is open and possibly took in some dirt/moisture. After the grease working itself around inside, the clunk is gone. This was three weeks ago and has not returned.
I do notice that there is more motor shifting since new which is probably due to rubber engine mounts getting softer. At least the dreaded clunk is gone.
