From my understanding, the critical issue with tire "shelf-life" is two-fold. First, storage under pressure/flat-spotting and two, exposure to UV radiation - both lead to fatigue in some number of years. The other forces of decay are on the order of a decade or more. Those tires are of no concern. My Arctic Alpins from 1994 (205/60-15) were stored for six years in my garage (in plastic bags after thorough coatings of tire dressing) - then fitted to a Honda Accord in 2001 and are performing admirably with no signs of cracking, tread separation or errant bulges - all traits that I am unfortunately expressing on my own person (guess I shouild have used the Armour-All body lotion).
