"engine malfunction" lamp came on today

My "engine malfunction" lamp (a little engine icon under the temp gage) came on today uneventfully. My 2000 9-5 2.3 4 with shy of 18k miles is running fine and continues that way. The manual on page 169 says it has something to do with the monitoring of the Trionic engine management system. Will call my dealer on Monday to get their advice - what is yours?? Thanks in advance.
