Like most other respondents, I only give the car a little time while I get strapped in, and then I take it easy until it starts to warm up, increasing load as engine warms up.
With the Saab, I don't worry about rev's as much as the turbo pressure. I relate that to engine load, and I try to keep it in the yellow until it begins to warm up.
