All this talk of the DI cassette failure rate is silly. I too had this failure on my 95 900 SE Turbo (Plan to buy a used 95 here soon). The Saab ingition system has been around for some time but still tends to be on the cutting edge when compaired to other car builders. It is complex and can fail in a host of diffrent ways. I solved the problem by getting a used DI Cassette form a salvage yard. I paid $75.00 for it. If you are at all concerned about a DI cassette failure this used spare will prevent you from being stranded on the side of the highway. It takes all of 3min. to R&I this part and you are back under way. This is cheep insurance in my book. My 900 went through 3 DI units in 175,000 miles. I really didn't think it was a poor failure rate. After all, it is an ignition part that needs to be replaced over time. All cars have their quirks and this is just one of Saabs. If you have the $$$ to buy a Saab new or used, keeping a spare DI cassette should not put you out on the street. Suck it up and stop crying because mom is not here!!
