Wierd Q: what sticks (but not velcro) to Saab carpet?

I know this is a strange Q--worth a shot though. Seems people in here have thought of everything.
I have a motorola self-install car phone speaker thing that I need to find a spot for. It's a totally simple and relatively small device, works very well actually. Anyway, the perfect spot for this thing it is against the carpet to the left of the gearshift on the driver's side. There's even this little protrusion there in front of the lower seat I could bump it up against. I'd rather not have to screw it there permanently, or do anything that requires drilling holes through carpet into whatever us beneath it. This thing is small, but it's too big to stick to the dash (plus it would look crappy).
I thought if I put velcro on the bottom of this thing, it would easily stick well enough to the carpet to use, and yet pretty easily remove--I was wrong. Velcro will not stick to Saab Carpet. So I'll be damned if I can find a spot for this thing that it doesn't just roll all over the car, or isn't completely in my way.
Has anyone done anything remotely this wierd? I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and post this here to see if anyone had tried anything similar.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Scott
