Love your post. First Winter with TCS on our 9-5, I practically rammed somebody in front of me departing from a red light. We were both taking off on a slippery road and he could not get moving and I was already moving quite well. I have gotten used to TCS and leave it on. If you hit asphalt, you regain full grip and that's all, no problem. If manoeuvring in very deep snow, then I turn it off as to permit wheel spin, which helps make your way through. Same thing if you want to spin and slide into tight parking spots. Love the hand break/ reverse method.
*since I have switched to Aero ECU on our LPT, the engine seems to «out manoeuvre» the TCS. If I stomp it, I get wheel spin until TCS kicks in, as if they were a little out of sink. Nice problem to have!
