Well the body shop found some scratches on the bumper cover and he felt the plastic was slightly flattened right in the center of the bumper, but slight. The estimate to refinish the bumper cover... $747.09
Sounds like a lot to repaint the bumper but I guess its the first chip for them/me to bargain with the lady's insurance co.
By the way, her local agent was less than helpful with attitude and 'well if you _want_ you can fax that to...' and 'didn't sound like much...' So I gave him an earful of when one's new car is rear-ended, one might like things fixed properly. Then I faxed him the estimate and he said he'd open the claim, etc. Today--nothing, so I called her insurance co. main claim number they had nothing so far and had not heard of the accident. I filed with them (they were very couteous and professional).
The 10mph bumper saga continues...
We'll see if the body shop finds more damage when/if they start looking behind the bumper.
