so, do I really need that extended warranty? (long)

Just got off the phone with the dealership manager. They have miscalculated the price of the extended warranty by about 30%. As a result, the coverage provider rejected the contract and did not deduct any money from me, which puzzled me for a while -- I've bought the car almost half a year ago. During this period the dealership had performed two repairs on my car for the total amount of over $1000, and somehow managed to claim them through the extended warranty (at least, I didn't pay anything).
They have suddenly woken up last week and are offering me to either sign a new contract for approximately the same price with lower mileage (60K km vs original 80K), or just give me my warranty downpayment back and cancel the contract.
The car is a very early 9-5 (serial #3000824), so initially the warranty seemed like a good idea. But after all those repairs it's running fine at the age of 90K km, and I've checked the history, it's got virtually every problematic component replaced: turbo, throttle body, ECU, exaust, DI cassette (twice), water pump, crank sensor. Should I expect another $1500 in repairs costs during the next three years to justify a warranty? I can drown myself in a pool of warm milk for this kind of money (my regards to J ;).
...and the Speedparts upgrade seems is tempting...
