If you call eEuroparts, or the Saab Site (both Saabnet sponsors) they can look up the right rear axle parts depending on the serial number of your car.

You may want to look into whether parts can be returned if you don't need them. I found out my rear rotors had 2/3 of stock left but too much time had passed since I'd bought the rotors for eEuroparts to accept a return. Saab Site seems more flexible in that respect. So I've got a set of rear rotors gathering dust.

Trouble is, you can't know whether you need rotors, or not, until you get the calipers off. By then, you're half way into the job and all that is left is to reassemble the brakes with new pads.

If you don't see any evidence of fluid leakage at the calipers, you won't need to rebuild or replace them. It's rare that you would. Also, unless you're feeling some throbbing from your brakes, you won't need to machine them either.

I'm also wondering whether you need to do all four. Usually, the rears will last a fair bit longer than the fronts -maybe 15-20K miles.

If all you need to do is replace pads on one set of wheels, the job ought to cost no more than $50 -$100 if you use EBC green pads. If you do need rotors, figure another $60-80. Then take the $1,000 you didn't give the dealer and do something nice for yourself or your family.
