It's really meant to be a new version of the People's Car. The shape is simple, almost cute, the size is between Jetta and Passat, the handling is superb, and the price... the price is unbelievable. Meaning that If you want a great handling sports sedan at 25k then get the new 9-3SS. In the same mass appeal way that if you want a great family sedan at 25k get the Accord V6.

And, DUH, the point of the new 9-3SS is to force people who want a euro sports sedan and are only willing to spend 25-30k to choose between a USED (CPO) BMW or Audi and a new 9-3SS. The 'typical' car buyer will always go for the new car. I can understand why you might have felt the need to get a used car, but I think 80% of buyers and 100% of leasees will always go for the new if they can afford it.
