I concur about the retractable net. I especially like that it can be used with the back seats either up or down. I also like the fact that it stows away nicely when I'm not carrying anything.

You had to do metalwork to get yours in? On my '02 Aero wagon, all that was required was to remove the plastic/carpet covers off of the back of the seats and cut out a hole for the mounting brackets. A nut for the brackets to screw into was already part of the seat- it was just covered by the trim in case the owner didn't get that option. Cutting the hole was very simple too- a rectangular marking was moulded into the back of the trim, so all I had to do was take a dremel to it and follow the marking. I think it took me an hour total and I wasn't in any particular hurry. I suppose a utility knife could be used too if you're patient.

Bottom line though- although it was quite expensive for what it is, I think its worth the money and very convenient. Also provides that extra level of safety you're after!

prlf- Did you buy your wagon yet? Since it is quite expensive to buy after the fact (approx $550 CAD), perhaps you could work it into your deal- that's what I did. Don't forget the dealer's price is probably half what you'd pay, so the deal favours both parties (he sells the car, you get a net) Feel free to email me if you run into trouble installing it and I'll help out as best I can.
